B. Necessary steps

1. Backup your iDevice with iTunes

2. Close iTunes

3. Disconnect your iDevice

4. For Windows – click here. For Mac – click here. For LINUX – click here.

5. Save the file.

6. Uncompress the file if needed.

7. For Windows users – please set the uncompressed file to open in Windows 98 compatibility mode, and As Administrator.

8. Open the executable (spirit.exe for Windows, Spirit for Mac)

9. Connect your iDevice.

10. Click “Jailbreak”.

11. If successful you will receive the following message:

12. Your iDevice will reboot and show you progress indicator.

13. Once this finishes your iPhone will be jailbroken with Cydia installed!
